Explore Baby Changing Tables at Mothercare Bahrain

A changing table is one of those things you don't think much about until you're changing ten nappies a day, and then you wonder how you'd manage without one. It gives you a safe surface at the right height, with wipes, nappies and a fresh outfit all within reach, which saves an awful lot of bending and searching, especially in those bleary first weeks. Most parents use one from day one right through the nappy years.

There are a few ways to go. A standalone changing table is a dedicated unit, often with open shelves or drawers to keep everything sorted. A changing unit doubles as storage or even a small dresser, so it earns its space in the nursery. A changing table topper sits on top of a dresser or a cot, turning furniture you already have into a changing spot. And a portable changing pad is the soft, wipe-clean mat your baby actually lies on, handy to move from room to room. Pair yours with soft bedding nearby and a comfortable mattress for the cot, and the nursery starts to come together.

How to Choose a Changing Table

Height is the first thing: it should let you stand comfortably without stooping, since you'll be there several times a day. Look for raised edges or a safety strap to keep a wriggly baby secure, and storage you'll genuinely use, whether that's open shelves for grab-and-go or drawers to hide the clutter. If space or budget is tight, a topper on a dresser you already own does the same job for less. And keep in mind you'll move on from it once your toddler is too big or too squirmy to change lying down, usually somewhere around two.
